Baghor ki Haveli - The City Angle 1

Baghor, a village nearby Bhilwara in Mewar bestowed the name to Baghor ki Haveli, which was built up by Shri Amar Chand Badwa in the 18th century. Later on, Maharana Nath Singhji was been granted Baghor village to have power over it and Baghor ki Haveli to live in as being the second eldest son of Maharana Sanghram Singhji while signing off the sovereignty to all his sons. 

After being left with no heir of Maharana’s succession West Zone Cultural Centre then intervened and took charge of it in the year 1986 and restored the culture, customs and traditions, ethnicity and way of life of Maharana and his family and people. WZCC also provided some new highlights to the Haveli and made it a renowned and a focal point for the tourists and sightseers in Udaipur like adding an evening show, attaching more rooms and attractions in it like display of lifestyle of Royal kins, kitchen utensils, sculptures of eminent monuments of the world, exhibition of royal wedding and preserving the weapons, costumes and appliances of Royal family. By just charging a nominal price from the visitors as a ticket amount WZCC is trying to keep the order in place. Entrance is easy by just paying 30 bucks by Indians and 60 by foreigners.   

Dharohar”, an another and the core temptation in the Baghor ki Haveli, an evening show of one hour which brings out the whole of Rajasthan’s 7 various majestic dance forms, i.e., Bhavai, Chari, Ghumar, Terah Taal, Gavri, etc., and a puppet show,  along with the country music and  quaint costumes building up the picturesque of royal vista among every spectator. From past 10 years, this musical concert has played a crucial role in giving a prominent recognition to the Baghor ki Haveli by attracting hundreds of viewers every single day. Entrance to this event charges Rs. 60 from local tourists and Rs. 100 from foreigners along with extra charges for the camera of Rs. 100.

Visit to entire Haveli and each and every fragment of it builds up a complete majestic aura and a passionate touch of Rajasthan and its beautiful ethnicity and makes it one of the unique Haveli of India in its own way. The magnificent charm of the palace is still alive and inveigles every moment to the tourists.
