The aim of Vastu is to make life content, happy and prosperous. We would like to bring to your notice some basic fundamentals of Vastu. Though minor, they have far-reaching repercussions. You can test them if you want!
- Always remove a wall clock/wristwatch, which has ceased to tell time.
- The centre of the house should be open and spacious. Do not make any walls to break this flow.
- It is inauspicious to have dirty water drain of your neighbours fall in your courtyard.
- Never let garbage or surplus domestic goods accumulate near the main entrance.
- The flow of dirty water drains in front of the house is highly inauspicious. This may cause financial loss. It can also lead to irritability in the inhabitants.
- Immediately throw away any cracked or chipped mirror.
- One should never allow eagles, owls, rabbits or bats to take shelter in the house. The nests of these birds and the burrow of the rabbit in the house invite destruction.
- One should avoid keeping cactus and other thorny plants.
- It is also inauspicious to have a pond, river, lake or a ditch on the southwest of the house.
- While sleeping your head should be towards the East or South.
- The doors and windows should not make a squeaking sound while closing and opening.
- Make sure that the shoes and slippers are properly placed to avoid strife.
- Never place the dirty clothes with washed linen.
- Never place a jug of water near telephone as the currents from the phone have a negative effect on water.
- Always place your important documents in the Almira that opens in the north.
- Make sure to keep a locker or safe, which opens in the north in the house. Keep some cash or jewellery in it.
- If the cook is facing east while cooking & the condiments are kept toward his right hand then the food would be even more delicious.
- If you shave then you must do it regularly, as the unshaven looks invite lethargy & poverty.
- The toiletry comb etc. should always be neatly displayed. Each person should have a separate towel. The extra towel should be kept for guests.
- It is beneficial and auspicious to pray to the sun after the morning bath.
- Do not hang unnecessary photographs & calendar on the walls of the house.
- Do not hang the pictures of dead relatives in the drawing room or next to the door.
- Put the picture of Laxmi Ji & Ganesha or the Swastik near the entrance to the house brings happiness & prosperity to the family.
- When going for important jobs avoid eating eggs, or non-veg, instead eat curd & look at fish or bowl full of water. It is auspicious.
- A squeaky & noisy fan should be repaired immediately. It invited friction in the house.
