· Food Safety and Standards Authority of India issued bottling orders to states.
· Hotels and restaurants must provide water to customers in paper sealed reusable glass bottles.
From hot food served to satisfy hunger, to cold water and tea sips that relieve fatigue, the risk of health deteriorating is increasing. Drinking water in a plastic bottle makes a difference in the chemical found in it, not only cancer but also stomach pain, constipation and memory.
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has banned the feeding of water from plastic bottles in view of the danger of public health. Under this, expensive water bottles of hotels and restaurant operators will not be able to serve. Hotels and restaurants will have to provide water to customers in a paper sealed reusable glass bottle. This will help in saving the environment as well as provide relief from loot in the name of sealed water. The order has been issued by Praveen Jargar, Joint Director (Regulatory Compliance) of FSSAI. All the food safety commissioners of the country, including Rajasthan, have written to the Hotel Association for compliance of the rules.
